EHRD 618 - Evaluation Models in HRD
Evaluation models in HRD reflects my first interaction with real world experience. Our group was challenged to broaden our understanding of HRD practices to better assist the needs of a local organization. We chose to use a quantitative approach to investigate the quality of their training program and a Likert type scale survey with an even numbered scale with a range from Very Dissatisfied 1, Dissatisfied 2, Satisfied 3, and Very Satisfied 4 to help produce the data to evaluate the effectiveness of their training program and gauge the level of satisfaction that the employees are currently at. It was during this course I was able to connect readings and research to real world application.
This course really sparked my interest in helping other organizations better themselves and their HRD practices, training, and development programs. This course allowed for real partnership with an external organization and practice evaluation techniques.

This project was incredibly applicable and important for a multitude of reasons. One being that this project allowed my group to apply our theoretical concepts and establish real stakeholder needs, surveys, and establish specific training initiatives.
Not only did the survey results show an overall satisfaction with the training that was implemented, there was also areas that were brought to the surface that were in need of attention. A prevalent theme during our project was that communication between management and employees needs to be valued more highly in order to ensure the success of the Breckinridge Montessori School.
