EHRD 614 - Strategic Planning in HRD

At the beginning of this course, our group was confident in the fact that this was going to be an easy and predictable project. What we quickly learned was that communication with a business and an ever-changing environment would prove different. Our group had the opportunity to work with My Magical Memory, a character entertainment performing company out of College Station, Texas. We as a group of graduate students wanted to efficiently and effectively implement new strategies and courses of action for My Magical Memory to take to better their overall goals within the business specifically during Covid-19.

It was during this class that I quickly learned how to operate with others and a high-performance organization. This was also the first time I would be introduced to the highly influential ADDIE Model. We utilized this model as a beneficial way to identify performance gaps and training needs as well as hone in on desired results to focus attention on knowledge transfer and/or behavior change. As our team analyzes performance gaps, functions of human resource activities, and event-related campaigns, we also needed to consider the available resources and constraints of the business environment that our client operated in to offer effective feedback and strategic process administration.
I chose to submit the "HPO: My Magical Memory Strategic Plan" developed during this course. It was during this assignment that I embraced change and teamwork. This course exposed me to challenges I did not realize could happen and provided me with an effective team to combat those obstacles. This course exposed me to leadership and the ability to empower a team when times are difficult and organizations are being less than helpful.

It was this project that projected me into a higher role within My Magical Memory and allowed me to carry on the strategic plan we had created for the organization back in 2020. I am now the Regional Manager for My Magical Memory and am responsible for the training and character performance organization for the company.
