EHRD 603 - Applied Theoretical Foundations in HRD

Applied Theoretical Foundation in HRD proved to be an essential course needed to further my overall development throughout each course taken within the program. I learned from the ground up how to build a successful organization with the help of human resource development. It was also during this course I came to understand that human resource development is a process for developing and unleashing human expertise through training and development.

It was during this course I related to the fact that HRD is comprised of a group of individuals whose sole purpose is to better train and develop each other so that the company can reach its full potential. It was this course that set me on the path to better foster effective relationships with others, generate a necessary understanding of the intricate positions within HRD, and improve my overall understanding of the subject and how essential an HRD team can be when exercised effectively.

With the help of Dr. Dirani, I have attached one example from the course that I believe represents both my understanding of HRD and will show how I value the overall process that is HRD in the workplace.

The metaphor assignment provides an individual the opportunity to express how they visualize HRD. For myself, that is through the eyes of the family. As mentioned above, human resource training development is a process for developing and unleashing human expertise through training and development. Raising a family is no different. I choose HRD to study due to its relativity in organizations, my career, and I value the structure as much as I value my family
